OAKLAND — Peralta Colleges has hired a union heavyweight and former Oakland deputy mayor as its chief strategist on the Oakland A’s proposal to build a new ballpark at district headquarters.
District Chancellor Jowel Laguerre announced the hiring of consultant Sharon Cornu at Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting, which was the first time the board met since A’s President Dave Kaval sent them a letter announcing the team preferred to build at E. 8th Street and Fifth Avenue.
