SEATTLE – A’s right-hander Jarrod Parker has a fracture of the medial epicondyle in his right elbow, Oakland head trainer Nick Paparesta said Saturday night.
Paparesta said surgery is “imminent” for Parker to repair the fracture, and not until then will doctors know if Parker would require a third ligament replacement in his elbow, or “Tommy John” surgery.
The A’s aren’t wagering any guesses yet for Parker’s timetable for recovery until he’s further evaluated. Paparesta said Parker will go home to visit his family while appointments are set up. But he’ll be sidelined multiple months at minimum.
