MESA, Ariz. — Tradition holds that, before the regular season kicks off, the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants host a two-game exhibition Bay Bridge Series. One game at the Coliseum in Oakland, the other at Oracle Park in San Francisco.
Half of that series was put on ice. The game at Oracle Park was canceled in response to San Francisco Mayor London Breed’s directive to a citywide ban of events hosting 1,000 people ore more. The ban, enacted Wednesday, will be enacted for two weeks.

The City of Oakland hasn’t enacted any citywide ban, but is in coordination with Alameda County to mitigate the situation.
