OAKLAND — Later today the A’s will board a bus for San Francisco and the first of a three-game series against the Giants. It’s entirely likely the trip will seem shorter and more pleasant than it might have.
For this, they can thank Shannon Stewart.
Don’t laugh. It’s more than the A’s had going for them in the ninth inning of Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Boston. Down to their final out, they were in imminent danger of being no-hit by Red Sox starter and tireless self-promoter Curt Schilling.
