BALTIMORE -- The A's broke out for 10 runs in the third inning of a Wednesday night affair in Baltimore, securing a comfortable lead as they seek to gain ground in the playoff picture.
Matt Olson's 26th homer of the season, a three-run offering against Orioles right-hander Andrew Cashner, highlighted the eventful frame, which saw 15 batters go to the plate. Three of them came up with two hits: Nick Martini, Jonathan Lucroy and Matt Chapman, who drove in three runs.
The Orioles didn't record an out until the 12th batter of the inning, Ramon Laureano, popped out against reliever Cody Carroll, inducing a sarcastic applause from a light crowd at Camden Yards.
