MESA, Ariz. -- A's starting pitcher Jarrod Parker will visit Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Southern California Tuesday to have his right elbow examined before deciding what course of action to take.
The 27-year-old veteran is having to decide between retiring or continuing to play, and if it's the latter, he's looking for the path of care and rehabilitation that will give him the best chance to return to the big leagues for the first time since 2013.Parker, who had been attempting to return to the A's starting rotation after his second Tommy John-style ligament replacement surgery, suffered a re-fracture of his right elbow during a bullpen session against hitters Thursday.
