Last week, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred spoke with Oakland city councilmembers Rebecca Kaplan and Larry Reid, as well as Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf, and — according to the San Francisco Chronicle — he wasn't messing around.
If the city of Oakland did not drop its lawsuit against Alameda County, Manfred said, the A's would leave themselves vulnerable to a move to Las Vegas.
"He kind of laid down the law," Reid told the Chronicle. "He talked about how it was five years ago that he became commissioner, how he had resisted the A's moving to San Jose back then.
