With the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, the nation’s healthcare workers are being asked to work insanely long hours with not nearly enough equipment. With shortages of masks, PPE, and ventilators, those healthcare workers are being asked to perform miracles and make difficult decisions.
On Friday, the Oakland Athletics did their part to show their appreciation for those efforts. They sent 300 personal pizzas to Kaiser Permanente, their healthcare partner, providing lunch to those employees.
They're taking care of our community, so we took care of lunch. With an assist from @RoundTablePizza we provided lunch for 300 frontline medical workers from @kpeastbayarea in Oakland earlier today.
