Major League Baseball’s award season is in full swing, beginning with Rookie of the Year awards on Monday night. The Oakland Athletics’ Billy Burns was at one time considered a potential ROY candidate, but the finalists for the American League ended up being Francisco Lindor, Carlos Correa, and Miguel Sano.
Correa, the Houston Astros’ shortstop, took home the honors, with Cleveland Indians’ shortstop Lindor coming in second. On the National League side of things, the Chicago Cubs’ Kris Bryant was the unanimous selection, which was expected.
Tuesday night will feature the Most Valuable Player contest, with former Athletics’ third baseman Josh Donaldson considered the front-runner in the AL.
