Oakland A's will recall Pat Venditte, reports CSN California

The Oakland Athletics will recall ambidextrous reliever Pat Venditte to their bullpen before Saturday evening's game against the Baltimore Orioles, according to a report from Joe Stiglich of CSN California. Friday night's spot starter, Brad Mills, is a likely candidate to be designated for assignment. Mills tossed five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out one, and walking one. If Mills is so designated, there would be 38 players counting against the 40-man roster limit.

Venditte's return follows what was effectively a lengthy rehabilitation assignment, though he was officially optioned to Triple-A on August 3.
