The Oakland A's are one of four teams in pursuit of starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez, according to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish. The right-hander was placed on release waivers by the Orioles on Wednesday and will become a free agent on Friday if not claimed by another team.
Gonzalez, who turns 32 in May, has pitched for Baltimore for four years. In 101 career games (95 starts), he has a 3.82 ERA (107 ERA+) in 580u2153 innings, with rates of 6.5 K/9 (17.1% Ks) and 2.9 BB/9 (7.8% BB). He's also made two postseason starts, with one of them being a quality outing in the 2012 ALDS.
