The Oakland A’s recalled starting pitcher Daniel Gossett, the team announced Wednesday. To make room on the 25-man roster, reliever Michael Brady was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville.
Gossett made 10 starts in his first stint in Oakland this year, beginning with his MLB debut in June. His overall numbers were shaky as he took his share of lumps, but he did squeeze out quality starts in half his outings (7 innings twice) while striking out nearly three batters per walk. He often got hit hard in his first tour of the league, but the 24-year-old still showed signs of encouragement.
