The Oakland Athletics placed Kendall Graveman on the 15-day disabled list and recalled corner infielder Max Muncy before Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Graveman left Sunday's game with an oblique strain that will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season. The A's will need a fifth starter on Friday, and Aaron Brooks is on turn with Triple-A Nashville to start that day.
With Max Muncy, the A's will temporarily go to 14 position players. There's a strong likelihood Muncy returns to Nashville on Friday to wrap up the Triple-A Season that ends September 7 before getting recalled as a September callup.
