Last week we found out that Oakland A’s pitcher Sean Manaea would be undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his troublesome shoulder. The operation finally took place on Wednesday, and there are now updates on his condition and prognosis.
First, from the team’s press release Wednesday night:
Manaea underwent successful left shoulder arthroscopic surgery today. Dr. Neil ElAttrache performed a subacromial decompression, acromioplasty and posterior labral repair at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles. The left-hander will begin his rehab on Monday in Arizona.
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know what a lot of those words mean.
