Oakland A's manager Bob Melvin informs beat writers (including the Sacramento Bee's Matt Kawahara) that starting pitcher Henderson Alvarez was pulled an inning early from his last scheduled rehab start for the Nashville Sounds on Sunday night after he experienced some "shoulder soreness," though "Alvarez 'feels a little better' today." He pitched five innings on Sunday.
Alvarez, who was rehabbing from 2015 shoulder surgery, will have an MRI tonight or tomorrow to determine if it's anything serious (tweets the Bay Area News Group's John Hickey), though it appears Alvarez's debut may be pushed back by at least one trip through the rotation.
