Oakland A’s call up Tyler Ladendorf, activate Andrew Triggs from DL

The Athletics fill in the roster after trading Josh Reddick to the Dodgers, and Andrew Triggs returns.

The Oakland Athletics have called up utility player Tyler Ladendorf and activated Andrew Triggs from the disabled list ahead of Tuesday’s contest against the Los Angeles Angels. The A’s optioned reliever J.B. Wendelken to Triple-A Nashville to open a space on the 25-man roster, and there was already a 25-man roster place open after the A’s traded Josh Reddick to the Los Angeles Dodgers (Rich Hill was already on the DL).

Max Muncy had been serving as the backup second baseman for the last few days as the A’s rotated middle infielders and starting pitchers between Oakland and Nashville, but Ladendorf has more experience up the middle.
