The Oakland A's officially announced several roster moves on Tuesday. RHP Jesse Hahn and 1B/3B/LF Max Muncy were called up from the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, catcher Josh Phegley was placed on the disabled list, and LHP Eric Surkamp was optioned to Triple-A. Most of these moves were first announced by manager Bob Melvin after Monday night's game, but now they are official. The only move that remained in question until now was Muncy's promotion.
The 25-year-old Muncy made his MLB debut in 2015 but has not yet played in the bigs this season. His numbers were uninspiring last year, but he has rebounded in 2016 by regaining both the power and the plate discipline he had previously showed at lower levels of the minors.
