Oakland Athletics outfielder Andrew Lambo had surgery last week at Vanderbilt University to treat testicular cancer, the A’s announced Tuesday. The A’s issued a press release detailing what led to the diagnosis and that future updates from the A’s will only relate to his playing status:
While testicular cancer is rare compared to other cancers, it is “the most common cancer in American males between the ages of 15 and 35,” according to the Mayo Clinic. It is a highly treatable form of cancer.
I think I speak for all of us Athletics Nation in wishing Andrew Lambo all the best in his cancer treatment and for a speedy recovery.
