Sunday marked the first day of September, which means active rosters around the league expanded beyond the usual 25 players to include anyone on the 40-man. The Oakland A’s began their morning by announcing five additions, including three call-ups from Triple-A and two MLB stars being activated from idle lists.
Corresponding moves were required to add Manaea and Murphy to the 40-man roster. To make room, pitcher Tanner Anderson and infielder Corban Joseph were designated for assignment.
