The Oakland A’s activated relief pitcher Santiago Casilla from the 10-day disabled list on Friday, the team announced. To make room on the roster, fellow reliever Ryan Dull was optioned down to Triple-A Nashville.
This ended up being a short DL stint for Casilla, who went on the shelf two weeks ago with a strained shoulder. He only made one minor league rehab appearance for High-A Stockton, and his velocity was back in the 90s. The right-hander is having a decent year at age 37 despite shaky peripherals, including a walk for every strikeout.
