The Athletics whittle down their disabled list to a mere 11 players.
The Athletics have activated catcher Josh Phegley from the 15-day disabled list and optioned catcher Matt McBride to Triple-A Nashville. Phegley last played for the A's on May 9 before he was forced to get a cortisone shot for right knee inflammation.
Phegley made five rehab appearances for the Nashville Sounds between Saturday and Wednesday, three times behind the plate. He went 6-for-19 with a double, six strikeouts, and four walks.
Matt McBride made eight appearances for the A's, starting four games at catcher and one game at DH.
