The Oakland Athletics have completed a trade to obtain outfielder Stephen Piscotty from the St. Louis Cardinals, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. Oakland will give up two minor leaguers to bolster its outfield. Oakland’s interest in Piscotty had been reported throughout December and at the winter meetings by the San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser. There are no reports yet of which A’s minor leaguers are headed to St. Louis.
Piscotty, turning 27 in January, owns a career .268/.346/.438 slash line with 38 home runs in three seasons.
