MESA, Ariz. – Jarrod Parker will have his fractured elbow examined by a specialist in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning as the A’s right-hander contemplates his next course of action.
Manager Bob Melvin said Parker will visit Dr. Neil ElAttrache to get a CT scan and X-rays on his elbow, and then in all likelihood return to the team as he decides his future plans.
After two Tommy John surgeries and two elbow fractures -- the most recent happening Thursday as he faced hitters in live batting practice – it’s unknown if Parker, 27, will try to resume his pitching career.
