SEATTLE -- A's top prospect Franklin Barreto was among the first group of callups Friday, joining the club in Seattle as rosters expanded with the advent of September.
Lefty reliever Sam Moll was also promoted, and the A's got two more reinforcements in catcher Josh Phegley and outfielder Jake Smolinski, who were activated from the disabled list.
Barreto enjoyed a two-week stint with the A's earlier this summer when second baseman Jed Lowrie was out of action, batting .190 with two home runs before returning to Triple-A Nashville.
