The Oakland Athletics will be getting a couple new and old faces back in their clubhouse this weekend.
Tanner Roark is expected to toe the rubber for his first start as an Athletic on Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Roark was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline in exchange for minor leaguer Jameson Hannah.The right-hander was in an Arby’s parking lot just about ready to consume a Beef n’ Cheddar sandwich with curly fries when he heard about the trade.
Arby’s locations are far and few between in Oakland, so Bob Melvin, his new manager, was certain he could find his new starter a new spot.
