Fresh off back-to-back road series victories over the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers, the A’s return home for a week as they kick off a three-game series with the Washington Nationals tonight.
The A’s will send Paul Blackburn to the mound, and he’s been the team’s ace through two full times around the pitching cycle thus far. In two starts, the last one resulting in a win over the Tigers, Blackburn has gone 13 innings of scoreless baseball. He’s thrown for just a combined seven strikeouts through both starts, but he also has just one walk and six hits allowed.
