MRI shows fractured bone in Parker's elbow

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Oakland A's right-handed pitcher Jarrod Parker refractured the medial epicondyle in his right elbow, the club announced on Friday. The fracture was revealed in an MRI. The team and Parker will determine the next step at a future date.

Parker originally fractured the medial epicondyle on May 8, 2015 while rehabbing from his second Tommy John surgery on March 24, 2014. He underwent season-ending surgery May 19, 2015 with Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla. Parker's previous revised ulnar collateral ligament did not need repairing and the avulsed medial epicondyle fracture was cleaned up and repaired.
