Morning After: Doolittle plans visit to Freedom Tower

NEW YORK – Sean Doolittle was looking forward to his plans for Wednesday morning before he heads to Yankee Stadium.

The A’s reliever was rounding up teammates to join him for a tour of the Freedom Tower, the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex, which was originally destroyed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Doolittle’s uncle, John Urban, is a New York native who helps run the observatory at the top of the Freedom Tower, and Urban had a hand in the early stages of the construction of the building.

Doolittle, who spent much of his youth in New Jersey, visited the Freedom Tower last fall while visiting family shortly after the baseball season ended.
