MILWAUKEE — Billy Butler is making the most of his playing time lately.
He drew a start at first base for the A’s on Tuesday and jolted their offense out of hibernation, hitting a two-run homer with two outs in the seventh that broke up the no-hit bid of Brewers starter Zach Davies. Butler drove in another run with a ground ball in the ninth for his second 3-RBI game in the past eight that he’s played, though it didn’t prevent the A’s 5-4 loss to the Brewers.
“We just couldn’t pull through,” Butler said. “We had a chance to win in the end.
