More A’s dinged up: Matt Joyce, Adam Rosales

HOUSTON - Two A’s players hit by pitches in the series opener against the Astros on Friday were out of Oakland’s lineup Saturday.

Outfielder Matt Joyce, hit by a curveball from Charlie Morton in the first inning, had an X-ray on his left big toe. There is no fracture, but Joyce won’t play until Tuesday at Minnesota because of the bruised toe.

“I’m fine, it’s just a little swollen,” said Joyce, who remained in Friday’s game after being hit.

“His toe’s not great, and we have a 25-man roster,” manager Bob Melvin said.
