MESA, Ariz. – The A’s will be without pitching coach Curt Young for at least a few days after he underwent surgery Friday.
Young had what manager Bob Melvin called a “disc procedure” and would be away from the Oakland camp for a few days.
While Young is gone, bullpen coach Scott Emerson will handle things. Emerson has been in charge of scheduling pitchers all spring, so that won’t change.
NOTES
–Sonny Gray, who was tentatively scheduled to start Sunday in Peoria against Seattle, now will pitch Tuesday on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
