The A's placed infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a left medial meniscus tear and selected infielder Max Muncy from Triple-A Nashville.
Triple-A left-hander Eury De La Rosa was designated for assignment to make room for Muncy on the 40-man roster.
Zobrist returned to the A's lineup Friday as the designated hitter after missing the previous four games because of left knee soreness, going 0-for-4. A's manager Bob Melvin admitted after Friday's game that Zobrist was "certainly not 100 percent."
Muncy, the club's fifth-round pick in the 2012 Draft who is the 24th-ranked prospect in the Oakland farm system, was hitting .
