Mark Canha’s stamp was all over Oakland’s game against the Angels on Sunday. He gave the A’s an early lead. He tied the game at the last possible moment, and he made a tremendous play in the field.
With two outs in the ninth, Canha — who’d homered earlier in the game — plopped a single to center to send in Dustin Fowler, tying the game. The A’s then won 6-5 on Jonathan Lucroy’s bases-loaded deep flyball single with one out in the 11th inning.
“They stacked the left side up so you don’t want to roll into a double play,” Lucroy said of the Angels’ five-man infield.
