OAKLAND -- Jed Lowrie hit his 100th career home run on Tuesday against the Mariners, putting the A's ahead 3-1 in the third inning.
It was an eventful start to the game for Lowrie, who also singled in his first at-bat on a line drive that hit Mariners' starter James Paxton on the upper left forearm, knocking Paxton out of the game. Lowrie then launched a two-run home run in the third to right off Felix Hernandez, who replaced Paxton out of the bullpen.
Lowrie recorded his 19th home run of the season, extending his career high.
