OAKLAND -- A's second baseman Jed Lowrie exited Sunday's game against the Rangers at the Coliseum after the fifth inning with a left shin contusion.
Lowrie was 0-for-1 with two walks in the series finale. He fouled a pitch off his shin in the fourth inning and grimaced in pain. Lowrie grounded out to end the inning and then walked gingerly out to second base to play defense. He was taken out after the top of the fifth.
OAKLAND -- Chad Pinder (aka "Chi" for Players Weekend) hit two home runs for only the second time in his young career, and the last-place Athletics knocked off the Rangers for the second straight game with an 8-3 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Coliseum.
