List of 149 MLB free agents for 2017-18 offseason

The World Series is over, and that means free agency is on the horizon. The first rumblings began on Thursday, when 149 MLB players became free agents.

The list will end up longer than this because there are still decisions to be made on contract options — not everyone will get picked up like Oakland’s Jed Lowrie, and some guys have their own player-options to consider. But for now, this is the starting line.

As a point of interest, the A’s are the only club without a free agent on this list. That speaks to the success they had in capitalizing on their expiring contracts, and not letting anyone walk away for free during a losing campaign amid a larger rebuild.
