Kurtenbach: The red-hot Oakland A’s demand your attention, belief

Tuesday night, the A’s trailed the Texas Rangers 10-2 going into the seventh inning. The contest was effectively over — teams leading by eight runs going into the seventh inning had won 761 consecutive games.

That streak did not make it to 762.

With their final nine outs Tuesday, the A’s spectacularly stormed back, tying the game at 10 and pushing the contest to extra innings, where Khris Davis’ towering 3-run homer secured an improbable 13-10 win.

While the Rangers’ atrocious bullpen played a big role in the historic A’s comeback, it was still one of the most spectacular victories I’ve ever watched.
