SAN FRANCISCO – Khris Davis doesn’t exactly have a bull’s eye covering his No. 2, but it’s clear that he’s No. 1 as far as the A’s offense is concerned.
Before Friday’s Game 2 of the Bay Bridge Series, manager Bob Melvin said the one constant in the Oakland lineup would be Davis, coming off a 42-homer, 102-RBI season, batting cleanup.
Davis put it another way.
“Oakland is certainly counting on me a lot,” Davis said. “I can feel it.”
Should the A’s feel that way?
“They should,” he said.
Davis was back in the lineup Friday at AT&T Park after not having played since March 22 because of a calf problem.
