Khris Davis hits 30th homer, but A's lose 8-4

OAKLAND — Khris Davis isn't the first right-handed hitter to turn the Coliseum into his personal home run palace — guys of another generation named Canseco and McGwire did more than their share of damage to the place.

But it's been a long time since the A's had any right-handed batter so invested in testing the limits of the stadium situated at the junction of 66th Ave. and the Nimitz.Davis crushed his third homer in three days Sunday to get to 30 for the first time in his career. That homer and solo shots by Ryon Healy and Brett Eibner weren't enough to save the A's from an 8-4 loss to the Mariners, but it underscored the serious power the left fielder has brought from Milwaukee to Oakland.
