Khris Davis said that winning American League Player of the Week honors Monday was a great feeling.
“You know what? I’m pretty flattered,” Davis said. “It feels like my birthday.”
Davis said he’d heard from lots of people, gotten plenty of text messages and congratulations from his teammates. “It’s nice, it’s great, I feel loved,” he said. “I’m pretty happy.”
Davis was co-honoree with Boston’s Hanley Ramirez after banging five homers in seven games, including No. 39 and No. 40 on Sunday. “It hasn’t really hit me yet,” he said.
