Jordan Weems had been one of the great stories for the Oakland A’s last season. A former third round pick by the Red Sox as a catcher in 2011, he converted to the mound in 2016. Within two seasons, he had made his way to Triple-A, but was allowed to leave as a minor league free agent following the 2019 season. He signed in Oakland, and finally made his major league debut in 2020.
