Jharel Cotton no-hits Yankees into 6th in A’s loss

NEW YORK - Except for the very beginning and the end of his outing Saturday, Jharel Cotton was sensational, with a masterful in-between.

Cotton, called back up after injuries to Kendall Graveman and Jesse Hahn, appeared extra amped-up in making his first-ever appearance at Yankee Stadium, and he gave up a run in the first after a walk, a hit batter, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.

He didn’t allow a hit, though, until the sixth, when with two outs and one on, onetime A’s outfielder Matt Holliday blasted a homer to left, the winning blow as the Yankees topped Oakland 3-2.
