MESA, Ariz. – This spring is the second for Jharel Cotton in a Major League spring training camp.
Last year he was with the Dodgers and made, in his view, mistakes. He’s with the A’s now, coming over as part of Oakland’s return for trading Josh Reddick and Rich Hill to Los Angeles.
Cotton is treating last spring, when he tried to rework his delivery, as a teachable moment. He doesn’t want any more mistakes made.
“This year I’m here to go out, have some fun, don’t be too nervous, just be myself, be normal,” Cotton said Wednesday on the first day A’s pitchers and catchers took the field in spring training.
