SEATTLE — J.B. Wendelken is doing such excellent work the final month of the season, the rookie might wind up on the postseason roster.
Manager Bob Melvin said he wouldn’t rule Wendelken out as a possibility after Wendelken struck out the side in the seventh, getting Robinson Cano, Nelson Cruz and Denard Span to lower his ERA to 0.57.
“Runs right through the middle of the order and shows off the changeup, too,” Melvin said.
