Jason Hammel's cramping issues met their match when a snack company shipped him a super-sized package of potato chips.
The Cubs pitcher was welcomed Wednesday at his Wrigley Field locker by a 6-foot high stack of cardboard boxes filled with chips courtesy of the company Utz, according to Associated Press."That's classic," Hammel said, smiling. "I should be well hydrated." Hammel, who spent time with the A's in 2014, has previously had cramping problems that most recently cropped up when he left his July 7 start in the sixth inning with a right thumb cramp. His doctor suggested potato chips.
