SEATTLE - The A’s clubhouse at Safeco Field smelled more like a Buddhist temple or upscale spa than a locker room Wednesday.
That’s because third baseman Trevor Plouffe brought along some incense from home and was burning it in the middle of the room.
“We enjoy it, as a team,” Plouffe said. “We had it at home and we’ve been doing really well at home. Sometimes you’ve got to bring that vibe. This is the first day it’s been out, so we’ll see if it works.”
Plouffe’s choice: lavender and sage. “Lavender is very calming and sage is meant to get evil spirits out,” he said.
