Either the Oakland Athletics aren’t keen on holding grudges, or their dream of a downtown ballpark is still alive and kicking.
The A’s on Monday announced a $100,000 endowment to the Peralta Colleges Foundation, according to a news release on mlb.com. Interesting in that the Peralta Community College board of trustees last December broke off discussions regarding the A’s desire to build a downtown ballpark on a 15-acre site near Laney College.
The A’s settled on the Laney site in September 2017 after a year-long search. They were stung when the Peralta District halted talks three months later.
