OAKLAND – A projection of $3.05 billion over 10 years in economic benefits would go to Oakland residents and business from the building of a new stadium for the A’s was released Tuesday by the club and the Bay area Council Economic Institute.
The report says the building of the privately financed stadium would create 2,000 construction jobs.
The report does not single out one of the four areas being scouted by the club as the site of a new stadium – Howard Terminal near Jack London Square, the area near Laney College and the Lake Merritt BART Station, Brooklyn Basin across Interstate-880 and the current site of the Oakland Coliseum.
