Homer-happy A’s hold off Seattle for fifth win in row

Extra-base hits, decent defense, winning streaks - there are signs, three weeks into the season, that the A’s might be OK, after all.

With first-inning homers Saturday from Adam Rosales and Ryon Healy, plus a good outing from rookie right-hander Jharel Cotton, Oakland downed Seattle 4-3. The A’s have won five in a row for the first time since last May 28-June 1.

At 10-8, the A’s are two games over .500 for the first time since April 23, 2016,

Rosales set the tone, clubbing a 1-1 pitch from left-hander Ariel Miranda over the wall in center.
