ARLINGTON -- Kendall Graveman remains winless, but the right-hander's latest effort was encouraging, and that in itself was something of a victory for the A's during a 4-2 loss to the Rangers on Wednesday night that snapped their four-game winning streak.
Graveman battled his way through six innings, marking the first time in six tries he was able to complete more than five. He struck out seven in the three-run outing, after allowing at least four runs in each of his other starts.
Graveman had to work for it, though, weaving his way through traffic -- he stranded seven baserunners -- and throwing 112 pitches.
